In 2012, Stars lost its home, leaving us without a space to rehearse and perform. Since then, we have relied on the assistance and generosity of friends and donors. Friends such as First United Methodist Church, who allow us to use their community center and stage to rehearse and perform. Theater, however, is an expensive undertaking, especially operating as a non-profit and maintaining reasonable prices for patrons and students alike.
And so we created our annual Gala, “There’s No Place Like Home,” an event dedicated to finding Stars a home. At this event, we invite potential sponsors and benefactors to spend an evening of murder mystery dinner theater with us. Proceeds from both the silent auction we hold and ticket sales go toward our future building, but we need volunteers to hold the Gala.
We open volunteering to all, whether you are a Stars family, alumni, or invested in helping foster your local theater. These volunteer opportunities range from donating auction items, assembling invitations, or inviting a potential sponsor.
Any way you can help is encouraged and greatly appreciated. Every dollar and action is another step along our yellow brick road toward Stars’ forever home.
