Proceeds from the evening will benefit the STARS Theater Building Fund as we search for a theater home.

The highlight of the evening will be the Wild West Murder Mystery, OIL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL, presented by the LONE STAR Dinner Theater, voted “Best Entertainment in North Texas.”

STARS Alum: Zachary Mendez

Relativity Media's Premiere of "Season of the Witch" - Red Carpet

Zachary Mendez, Actor/Vocalist

Zachary Mendez is currently a senior pursuing a BFA at Carnegie Mellon University.

In July of 2013 he sang the role of Don Basilio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with the Amalfi Coast Music Festival in Maiori, Italy.

Summer 2013 also marked the release of his first solo studio album titled, “Here to Stay,” which is available for purchase at zmendez.com.

In December of 2013 Mr. Mendez appeared as a featured soloist with the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic and Choirs in CMU’s annual Holiday Concert, broadcast live on WQED Radio.

Most recently Mr. Mendez made his Austrian debut singing in the Gute Freunde Liederabend with the AIMS Festival in Graz, Austria.

In October of 2014, Zachary will sing the role of Captain Macheath in Benjamin Britten’s The Beggar’s Opera at Carnegie Mellon University.

STARS Alum: Rebekah Kennedy

Rebekah_STARS_AlumRebekah Kennedy, Actress

Rebekah Kennedy, born in Texas, began acting on the stage. STARS was the beginning of her acting journey.

She continued her passion for theatre and she received a B.A. in Musical Theatre from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. After graduating, she returned to Texas where she was seen in “The Pillowman,” the World Premiere of “Bloodletters,” and the Southwest Premiere of “Slasher” to name a few. During this time, Rebekah also discovered her love for film.

Rebekah has booked roles in: “Season of the Witch” with Nicolas CageHouse Hunting” with Marc Singer, “Creature” with Mehcad Brooks, “I am Gabriel” with Dean Cain“Alongside Night” with Kevin Sorbo and “Memphis Beat” starring Jason Lee.

She wrapped a series regular role in the “Match” series pilot “Tonight” with Myteevee and Sony and her film “Crimes of the Mind” premiered on the Lifetime Movie Network. She most recently wrapped a lead role in the horror film “Bastard.” Rebekah now lives in Los Angeles. Proud SAG-AFTRA member.

Many of our students have mentioned that they have friends who might be interested in participating in STARS someday so we decided to have a special FRIEND DAY on October 4.

Our students are encouraged to invite their friends who might be interested in joining to attend the next rehearsal.

Their friends will be welcome to watch and participate in our rehearsal to see if they would like to be a part of our program.

North Texas Day of Giving

A Huge thank you to all who participated. With your help STARS raised $6,825 in funds for our new facility.
We will also receive $1000 from the Golden Ticket drawing.
In addition, the Community Foundation will be adding a percentage of Matching Funds to our total.

Final numbers (including matching funds) are not yet available but are sure to be in excess of $7,800!
